01 How are SMS and WhatsApp billed?
They're pay-as-you-go from a prepaid notification wallet - no bundles, no contracts. Rates shown are the maximum: SMS up to KES 1.00 per segment; WhatsApp up to KES 1.50 per message for utility and authentication templates. Marketing templates and CRM campaigns are billed at their own rate. High-volume senders qualify for lower rates - contact us to discuss. Top up the wallet and each send is deducted as you go. Email is always free, so if your wallet runs out your invoices still go out by email.
02 What does yearly billing save me?
Yearly plans are billed as ten months - you get two months free versus paying monthly.
03 Can I use my own SMS or WhatsApp account?
Yes. Bring-your-own-credentials (BYOK) is available on request for a one-time setup fee; once our team verifies your carrier account we enable it and your messages bill the carrier directly instead of your wallet.
04 Do you charge transaction fees on payments?
Zana doesn't add its own fee on mobile money or card collections - you only pay your payment provider's standard rates.
05 Do your prices include VAT?
Prices shown are exclusive of VAT. If we become required to charge VAT, 16% is added on Kenyan subscriptions and we'll tell you before it takes effect. Customers outside Kenya aren't charged Kenyan VAT.
