You already know the estate. We pay you for a year of it.

Bring a place that bills for water or rubbish. You earn a share of what it pays Zana, every month, for twelve months. Keep your job. There is nothing to buy.

What you get

You are not handed a price list and sent out

The place is yours once you register it

Put an estate in your screen before you pitch it and nobody can walk in behind you and claim it.

Training, and a screen of your own

We show you how the billing actually works, then give you a login that lists the places you brought and how each one is doing.

Something to show at the gate

A card that says you are a Zana partner, so the chairman knows who he is talking to before he lets you in.

Somebody to call when it stalls

A first bill run can go wrong. You are not sent out alone to explain it.

The work

Four things, and none of them is cold calling

  1. 01

Register the place before you pitch it

From that moment it is yours. Nobody can walk in behind you and claim it.

  2. 02

Sit with whoever writes the bills

Take one real meter round with them and put it into Zana as you go.

  3. 03

Be there on the first bill day

Stand next to them while the bills go out and the first M-Pesa messages come back.

  4. 04

Pick up the phone in month two

A place that stops paying stops paying you. That call is worth more than a new estate.

The money

Paid by the tenth, on what was collected

  • The estate pays its subscription like any other customer. None of it goes through you.
  • We count only what cleared. If they skip a month, that month is simply not there.
  • Your share of last month goes out by the tenth of this one, for twelve months from the day the place goes live.

You never touch a tenant's shilling

Tenants pay the estate through the estate's own paybill. The estate pays Zana through ours. A partner who starts collecting cash on the side is finished with us that day, and there has never been an exception.

FAQ

Questions people ask before they start

01 How much do I earn?

A share of what the place pays Zana, every month, for twelve months from the day it goes live. What that share is depends on the place and on how much of the setting up you do, so we agree it with you and write it down before you register anything.

02 Do I have to leave my job?

No, and we would rather you did not. The people who do well here are already in these places every week. Most partners bring one to three of them and carry on with what they do.

03 What if the estate stops paying in month two?

Then you stop earning on it in month two. We pay a share of money we have received, never a share of money we hope to receive. It cuts both ways, and it is the reason we can promise the twelve months at all.

04 Does it cost me anything to start?

Nothing. No fee to join, no stock to buy, no target to hit. If anyone ever asks you for money to become a Zana partner, it did not come from us.

05 How long before I am approved?

Somebody reads every application and calls you. Nothing is automatic, and you cannot register a place until a person has spoken to you.
